Delhi Hills Friendship Patch      

              

 

Purpose:   To build lasting relationships in girls and leaders across troops.  To help Hickory Hill and Delhi service units come together as one united unit.

 

The following is a list of suggested activities for all levels of Girl Scouts:

   Daisy/Brownie – complete 4 activities

   Junior  complete - 6 activities

   Cadette/Senior and Studio2B  - complete 7 activities

 

 

  1. The Friendship Circle stands for an unbroken chain of friendship with Girl scouts and Girl Guides around the world.  Discuss in your troop what friendship means to each girls

Daisies  -  In your Daisy Circle, talk about the meaning of making  friends and being a friend to others.

Brownies - Read the Friends Section in your handbook and do one activity pages 83-88

Juniors -     Read the Friends Section in your handbook and do one activity pages 66-75

Cadettes/Senior -  Discuss levels of friendship. i.e. casual, acquaintances, close friends, and best friends

 

  1. Become Pen Pals with another troop each girl should exchange at least one letter with a picture if possible.
  2. Have a friendship party with another troop exchange a bracelet, friendship stick or other friendship craft. 
  3. Learn how to tie a Friendship knot.  What does it represent?
  4. Plan an activity with a troop from the opposite service unit such as a game or song day.
  5. Attend a service unit event such as Thinking Day, Skating Party or Banquet.
  6. Make an autograph book to bring to service unit events see how many new friends you can make
  7. Be a friend to the community do a service project for an organization in Delhi.

Such as Anderson Ferry Food pantry, Delhi police, fire or parks, local churches and nursing homes.

  2. In small groups learn names and discuss likes and dislikes.
  3. Swap a couple of girls for a regular troop meeting to make friends and experience a different troop.  Share with your troop what you did during your visit.  .
  4. Trace your hand cut out and decorate with a picture or sentence about yourself  (These will be displayed at our Thinking Day event)
  5. Participate in a ceremony with a Friendship theme.
  6. Learn more about Delhi. Visit the Historical Society, attend a township meeting or tour a business in Delhi.
  7. Write a poem about friendship.
  8. Plan a camping trip with a different age level.
